RainWater Harvesting .co.uk exhibit at the
National Self Build & Renovation Centre
Britain’s smartest rainwater harvesting equipment
supplier and manufacturer opened its permanent
exhibition stand at The National Self Build & Renovation
Centre in Swindon. It is the UK’s only permanent
exhibition centre for self builders and renovators. In
the Trade Village over 240 suppliers showcase their
latest products. Visitors can walk through two permanent
houses, view cut-away foundations, floors, roofs, septic
tanks, and find out how to make their homes more
environmentally friendly and less costly to run and
maintain. Visitors use their bar code scanner to choose
how they would like their selected exhibitors to contact
them or what information to send.
The RainWaterHarvesting.co.uk stand features an
interactive light fantastic display of their
award-winning Rain Director controller and smart header
tank. Visitors can press several pulsating buttons to
illuminate the pipe run and water flow direction in each
mode e.g. rain flowing into the rainwater harvesting storage tank, being pump
to the header tank, flowing to the appliances etc. This
helps gain a clear understanding of the way the Rain
Director works. The stand also features the top part of
a full size 2700 litre Graf Carat rainwater harvesting tank, a high
definition video showing how the tank gets installed,
and the relevant pumps and filters.

Besides materials, visitors find information on how to
find land to buy, advice on financing, mortgages,
insurance, planning and overall cost estimates for
projects. Experts are on hand to answer specific queries
on all aspects of projects, and seminars run throughout
the day.
The centre also holds regular special events, such as
the Big Green Home Show, 23 to 25 October 2009, which
showcases products and services to help homeowners make
their properties more sustainable, and, of course,
rainwater harvesting features strongly!
Entry to the National Self Build and Renovation Centre is free, 10 till 5.50. The centre is closed on
Sunday and Tuesday.
