Garden System – Case Study – Norwich

Environmental Consultant wanted to make the most of an extended roof area.
After undergoing a renovation to improve their bungalow, a homeowner wanted to make better use of their increased roof space (because more roof means more rainwater).
Due to the age of the bungalow the improvements required would require significant groundworks and so rainwater storage was considered.
The homeowner considered a number of sustainable options but as an avid gardener those options wouldn’t have a positive impact on their water usage and this is what the homeowner really wanted to achieve.
As an environmental consultant the homeowner was guided towards rainwater harvesting and this quickly became an attractive solution to make use of the extended roof area with the added bonus that it is manufactured in the UK.
Using our handy tank size calculator we were able to specify a 3000L F-Line Tank Garden System.
Since installation the homeowner has been able to benefit from the collected rainwater for watering plants, maintaining vegetable planters and washing their cars.
The original system was installed in 2021 with the addition of our Rain Acculevel being added early 2024.
The homeowner searched for a solution for monitoring water levels after becoming frustrated with using a dipstick. Utilising our Acculevel has meant that the homeowner can monitor their water levels and ensure that they don’t unexpectedly run dry.
When we asked our client if he would recommend us this is what he said
“I found the initial contact with the rainwater team very helpful and informative with detail. I have already recommended to several people”.
Key Achievements
- Reduced water usage by about 25-30%.
- Improved garden appearance with grass thriving from rainwater.
- Guilt-free watering and washing in the garden.
- Acculevel readings.
