Garden System Case Study – St Just
Cornish homeowner invests in Rainwater Harvesting to address concerns of mains water bill.
Client: Homeowner
Type of System: 3000 Litre Garden System
Location: Cornwall
Completed: 2023
Our client in Cornwall was looking for a garden system to help them to address their concerns for the costs of their mains water bill.
Whilst undertaking some renovation work to their Victorian country house, it made sense to consider installing a rainwater harvesting system at the same time.
They contacted us to source suitable components for a garden rainwater harvesting system.
Using our online tank calculator we were able to specify a 3000L tank with pump and self-cleaning filter – giving them the maximum water collection capacity for their roof size.
The client made the most of the builders on site to install the system and our trusty F-Line tank was easy to install due to its shallow dig nature.
Since installation of the system our client has gone from one outside tap to four different locations and each location has the choice of either mains water or rainwater from the tank.
When asked if the client would recommend us they said:
“Certainly. The garden kit I ordered was easy to install and good value for money. As there is considerable rainfall in Cornwall, rainwater will always be the first choice but it is useful to have mains water back-up just in case. Rainwater is used to water the garden and wash the cars which saves hundreds of pounds a year on water bills. It is also great to know that we are recycling rainwater”.
Key Achievements
- Saving money on water bills.
- Recycling rainwater for garden and car washing.
- Future proofing the home.
