Why You Might See a Different Logo or Certification – What’s Changed & Why it Matters?
If you’ve noticed different logos, terms or certifications on rainwater harvesting products lately — don’t worry.
We want to explain what’s changed, why, and what it means for you.
For many years, WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) certification has been the “go-to” standard for demonstrating compliance with UK water safety regulations.
However, there are now alternative accrediting bodies such as KIWA and NSF that offer the same standard.

So, What’s Changed?
We have been accredited by an alternative awarding body – NSF Reg 4.
Products that used to display WRAS, now show an alternate certification logo/number as we have switched from WRAS to NSF Reg 4.
This change has been made because there are other awarding bodies offering the same level of assurance, the industry no longer solely relies on WRAS to meet legal requirements.
So, to summerise over time we (and other manufactures) may use different approval schemes other than WAS to demonstrate our compliance, depending on logistical considerations as there is now alternative awarding bodies.
What This Means for You — The Customer
Nothing has changed for you, our once WRAS certified products are now recognised by a different accredited body, NSF Reg 4.
If the water board wishes to inspect your rainwater harvesting system, you can produce the NSF Reg 4 number (just like you would have traditionally done with the WRAS number). This can be found on our product pages or you can call us and we can provide this for you.
There is no compromise on safety or quality. Put simply our products have just been accredited through a different awarding body.
If you spot the new logo or the new certification term (NSF Reg 4) on one of our rainwater harvesting systems — it’s not a red flag. It’s just a reflection of changes in certification and our commitment to keeping everything safe, legal, and high-quality.
RainWater Harvesting Ltd still remains the only UK supplier that has this level of accreditation on its domestic products.
