Domestic Rainwater Harvesting System Case Study – Devon
Why Rainwater Harvesting Was Considered
The aim of the project was to be able to reduce water bills. Whilst undertaking a substantial rennovation the client felt it was a good time to consider methods of reducing water bills and found Rainwater Harvesting as a solution to explore.
The Rainwater Harvesting Solution
After assessing the property, expected water usage and the client’s water saving goals, we recommended a 3000L Rainwater Harvesting Gravity Feed System with a pump.
This setup provides a reliable and efficient solution for collecting, storing and distributing rainwater for washing machines, toilets and garden use.

Since installation, the homeowner has been able to use their domestic rainwater harvesting system for several purposes, including:
- Washing Machines
- Toilets
- Garden and outdoor uses
By using rainwater harvesting the client has noticed a reduce in mains water bills, has noticed that their washing smells fresher and no longer smells like chlorine mains water.
