Domestic Rainwater Harvesting System Case Study – Hampshire
Why Rainwater Harvesting Was Considered
The aim of the project was to be able to use rainwater harvesting for an automatic garden watering system to protect the garden during the drier months.
The Rainwater Harvesting Solution
After assessing the property, expected water usage and the client’s goals, we recommended two x 5000L Rainwater Harvesting Diret Feed System with a pump. The client wanted to be able to have two tanks, one for the front and one for the back of the house.
This setup provides a reliable and efficient solution for using rainwater harvesting to water the garden during drier periods.
How the System Is Used
Since installation, the homeowner has been able to use their domestic rainwater harvesting system for several purposes, including:
- Washing Machines
- Toilets
- Garden and outdoor uses
By using rainwater harvesting the client has been able to save bushes and shrubs that would have otherwise died in dry heat.
CLIENT FEEDBACK
“I would highly recommend Rainwater Systems, who provided the rainwater-capture ‘package’ I needed based on my description of what I wanted to achieve. I then added the sprinkler system and automated controller to complete the system. It all works well!”.
Key Achievements
- Reduced consumption on mains water.
- Available water in the event of a hosepipe ban.
- Connected to an automated garden watering system.
