Rainwater Harvesting 101: Your Essential Questions Answered
What is Rainwater Harvesting?
Rainwater Harvesting is the process of collecting and storing rainwater.
Typically water is directed down your downpipes into either an underground or above ground tank.
This water can then be used for toilets, washing machines, gardening and outdoor use.

Why Should I Consider Harvesting Rainwater for my Property?
Harvesting rainwater offers several benefits, including reducing your reliance on mains water, lowering water bills and future proofing your home against hose pipe bans. It provides a naturally soft, chemical-free water source that is excellent for plants, gardens, and clothes!

How Does a Typical Rainwater Harvesting System Work?
A standard rainwater harvesting system generally involves a catchment area (usually your roof), a conveyance system (gutters and downspouts), a filtration system, a storage tank, and a distribution system (pump). Rain falls on the roof, flows into the gutters, is directed through a filter and then stored in the tank for later use.

How Do I Maintain a Rainwater Harvesting System?
If you are purchasing a system from us, our systems are virtually maintenance free! We do recommend a full system clean after 10 years. But you’ll find that our clever self-cleaning filter does a lot of the hard work for you – just giving it a check every now and then should be enough.
